We are so pleased to welcome the mama behind one of our favourite Instagram accounts to The Mama Diaries this week - Megan at Kit + Co. We have been fans of her colourful and beautifully curated interiors for ages so were thrilled that she was able to share her own top tips for nursery decor.
Embrace colour
Don’t be afraid of colour and using it in different ways. Painting window frames and skirting boards in a colour to contrast with walls can offer a fresh take on the familiar.
Layer in a fun way
Have fun layering. Layering a cute woollen animal rug on top of a sisal area rug can add warmth and a playful touch to the room.
Don't forget storage!
Baskets and rattan chests are great useful storage solutions for toys and are handy for clothing and undergarments too. A shelf for displaying special trinkets and books is a lovely way to create a focal point.
Add art to inspire
Create a gallery wall of favourite artwork and playful prints. It’s a fun way to inspire children and add extra colour to a scheme.
Think pattern + colour + texture
Don’t be afraid to mix pattern and colour with different textures. Add pom poms, cushions, colourful bedspreads, bed linens and throws to create a bright, homely and comforting nursery.
