Nepali Playmat/ Small Quilt

Hurry, Only 5 Left!

Our beautiful Nepali Quilted Playmats will definitely sing for their supper in your home. Exquisitely handmade in Nepal, they are thickly wadded with cotton to give them a substantial, weighty feel. Each one is block printed and bound in bright yellow, pink or blue cotton and completed with a sheer muslin cover which can be removed and washed.  They are truly multi-purpose and once you are through the playmat stage, they will prove extremely useful as a super cosy extra layer whilst snuggled on a playroom sofa or tucked up reading in bed.

Good to know

All of our fabrics are block printed by hand by our artisans and cooperatives in India and Nepal.

The generous fill also makes them suitable as a play surface on hard and carpeted floors

The Nepali Quilted Playmat measures 110 x 100cm

The muslin cover is machine washable at 30 degrees and the mat can be carefully spot cleaned by hand

Can you use the mat without the muslin cover? Absolutely! These mats look fab with or without the cover, just bear in mind that the mat can only be spot cleaned by hand

What age range are these mats suitable for? Newborn upwards. These mats are real favourites and seem to end up staying in nurseries and playrooms for years!

Can you gift wrap playmats? Yes! We fold them before wrapping in our recycled cotton paper and them tie them with ribbon. They then go into one of our bespoke pink envelopes for shipping

About us

We are a small business making lovely things for small people

Willa and The Bear was founded by Hattie in 2014. Mama to Willa, Maud and Gus, Hattie knows a thing or two about the parenting journey and the stuff that helps make life a little bit easier!

We believe in quality and longevity

Every one of our pieces is designed by Hattie in Norfolk and made in small, female run studios in India or Nepal. Shilpa in Jaipur and Rojina in Kathmandu oversee our makers who are all true artisans in their field, block-printing and finishing each item by hand.

Ethical production only

We only use trusted makers and supply chains that operate completely ethically. No mass-produced, anonymous factory settings for us which means that our products are invariably more expensive to produce but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We know that our customers appreciate this important part of our manufacturing process too.

The Process

By Hand

Our female-led studios mix our environmentally-friendly dyes entirely by hand...

The Process

Block Printing

Hattie's designs are painstakingly transferred to specially prepared wooden blocks which are then carved by hand. The designs are then printed onto our fabric by skilled artisans who create perfect repeat patterns entirely by eye.
