At Willa and the Bear we focus on traditional values of quality and style, whilst striving to produce beautiful, practical additions to modern day nurseries and children's rooms
A long standing connection and in depth knowledge of Nepal has allowed us to develop a range of artisan pieces, with each item block printed by hand and stitched together in three layers for added warmth and extra softness.
Our signature speckled fabric is made from the finest cotton which has been designed, hand-printed in three soothing colour ways and proudly manufactured in the UK.
All of our fabrics will become softer and softer with careful washing over time.
Our products are intended to see several generations through their tender first years and we hope will be added to your collections of heirloom nursery items.
Willa and the Bear founder, Hattie Goodley, has a long history and love affair with Nepal, having lived there for several years and been a trustee of a small orphanage in Kathmandu for the past 15 years. Today, Hattie has formed a working partnership with an artisan women’s co-operative to produce Willa and the Bear’s beautiful and unique muslin blankets, quilts and pyjamas. Although the studio thankfully avoided destruction in the disastrous earthquakes of May 2015, many of the women’s families and friends have been enormously affected and it will be a long process before normality is restored. The studio's printer is currently trying to rebuild his ruined home and we're aiming to help him do this; with your support we can.
