A freshly bathed, squeaky clean baby has to be one of our favourite things in the world! Our super soft Hooded Muslin Towels are made from 4 layers of breathable muslin and block printed by hand with two contrasting prints. A little hood keeps small heads warm straight out of the bath, whilst the gently absorbent nature of muslin makes a lovely alternative to a towel and is perfect for drying those hard-to-reach, peachy soft folds.

Good to know

Our hooded muslin towels are available in two sizes for babies and children. The small size fits newborns - 12 months and the medium fits toddlers upwards

All of our fabrics are block printed by hand by our artisans and cooperatives in India and Nepal.

Our muslin towels can be machine washed at 30 degrees

FAQs

Are these towels more of a dressing gown alternative rather than actual towels? Once you try one of our muslin towels you won’t go back to traditional terry towelling! These muslin towels are completely practical and dry incredibly efficiently. Unlike standard towelling, the muslin fabric won’t go hard and lumpy in the machine, in fact they get softer the more they are washed.

Would a muslin towel make a good new baby present? Yes! We love these towels for newborns as they are so soft. We recommend these for babies with particularly sensitive skin as the fabric is totally non-abrasive.

Best baby buy!

I LOVE my muslin towel and so does my 2 year old. It is so soft, dries really quickly and is ultra absorbent. I didn't think the fabric would be as good as normal towelling but if anything it's better. The hood is also a really good size and stays on even with lots of squirming. And it washes really well! Would give it 10 stars if I could.

About us

We are a small business making lovely things for small people

Willa and The Bear was founded by Hattie in 2014. Mama to Willa, Maud and Gus, Hattie knows a thing or two about the parenting journey and the stuff that helps make life a little bit easier!

We believe in quality and longevity

Every one of our pieces is designed by Hattie in Norfolk and made in small, female run studios in India or Nepal. Shilpa in Jaipur and Rojina in Kathmandu oversee our makers who are all true artisans in their field, block-printing and finishing each item by hand.

Ethical production only

We only use trusted makers and supply chains that operate completely ethically. No mass-produced, anonymous factory settings for us which means that our products are invariably more expensive to produce but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We know that our customers appreciate this important part of our manufacturing process too.

The Process

By Hand

Our female-led studios mix our environmentally-friendly dyes entirely by hand...

The Process

Block Printing

Hattie's designs are painstakingly transferred to specially prepared wooden blocks which are then carved by hand. The designs are then printed onto our fabric by skilled artisans who create perfect repeat patterns entirely by eye.
