Scalloped Dohar Baby Blanket

Hurry, Only 0 Left!

Our light-as-a-feather, reversible summer weight baby blankets or 'dohars' are block printed by hand in Jaipur on the softest cotton voile with two contrasting prints. Use yours as a blanket, a top sheet for little ones in warm weather, a travelling blanket, comforter, buggy or car shade, breast-feeding cover-up or throw - they are ultra versatile, generously sized and make wonderful presents.

Good to know:

All of our fabrics are made using hand block-printed cloth which is produced in limited runs meaning that no two pieces are exactly the same.

We love natural fibres and the 100% cotton fabric of our dohars is ultra light and breathable making it perfect for layering.

Each blanket measures 100 x 140 cm

How do you present your dohars as gifts? Like everything we send out, gift wrapping comes as standard! We wrap each blanket in our bespoke tissue paper which is tied with handmade cotton braid from our makers in Jaipur. This little parcel is then wrapped in paper and put into one of our lovely pink paper bags.

What’s the difference between your dohars and peace blankets? Our dohars and peace blankets are made using different traditional methods and have slightly different compositions. Dohars are made in India from two layers of cotton voile, whereas our peace blankets are created in Nepal from a layer of cotton sandwiched between two sheets of muslin.

About us

We are a small business making lovely things for small people

Willa and The Bear was founded by Hattie in 2014. Mama to Willa, Maud and Gus, Hattie knows a thing or two about the parenting journey and the stuff that helps make life a little bit easier!

We believe in quality and longevity

Every one of our pieces is designed by Hattie in Norfolk and made in small, female run studios in India or Nepal. Shilpa in Jaipur and Rojina in Kathmandu oversee our makers who are all true artisans in their field, block-printing and finishing each item by hand.

Ethical production only

We only use trusted makers and supply chains that operate completely ethically. No mass-produced, anonymous factory settings for us which means that our products are invariably more expensive to produce but we wouldn’t have it any other way. We know that our customers appreciate this important part of our manufacturing process too.

The Process

By Hand

Our female-led studios mix our environmentally-friendly dyes entirely by hand...

The Process

Block Printing

Hattie's designs are painstakingly transferred to specially prepared wooden blocks which are then carved by hand. The designs are then printed onto our fabric by skilled artisans who create perfect repeat patterns entirely by eye.
